The middle of Portugal consists of the regions Estremadura, Beira Litoral, Beira Alta, Beira Baixa and Ribatejo.

This centre part of Portugal accommodates the finest treasures. This part is still not discovered by most of the tourists, which makes it for those who do come very relaxed and agreeable. Portugal, but then especially this part of the country, offers a lot for each person: splendid “azulejos”, beautiful landscapes, fantastic local gastronomy, beautiful music, quiet villages, pleasant cities, a coast nearby, pleasant temperatures and an interesting collection of historic buildings, many of which have been declared World Heritage Sites.

The largest and most important city is Lisbon located at the Taag. Characteristic for this city is the enormous labyrinth of small streets, houses, stairs and squares. In former days the home base for the adventurous seafarers and now the home base for adventurous tourists flown in search of the depositions from these years. And they do not have to search for long. Lisbon has many well kept monuments, churches and palaces. Also in the hinterland of Lisbon you can visit impressive palaces, frequently solitary lain in woody surroundings such as Sintra and Queluz. To the coast we also have bathing resorts already age-long visited by kings, emperors and the population of Lisbon but nowadays very popular for the international visitor.
