From the Algarve to the North you will find the lovely Alentejo.The Alentejo consists of the regions Alto Alentejo and Baixo Alentejo.

The Alentejo is one of the regions in the south of Portugal. The extended landscape has sloping fields with olive-trees, cork-oaks and vine branches. The houses are whitewashed against the heat and this area is thinly populated. The coast in the west of the Alentejo has rocky cliffs with small sand beaches. Here you can enjoy the rough sea.

It looks like time has frozen here. In cities such as Evora splendid historical elements are still very present and offer a romantic ambience. You can also find lots of cultural activities.
